God made our head round, so that our thinking can change directions.

This is a collection of thoughts and ideas which form a cloud that strives to find sufficient structure to convey the value contained in it.

Earth Democracy
Earth Democracy is the recognition that we are part of the earth and the
the recognition that we have shrunk our existence, our brains, our minds, our potential.
From first understanding the universe, we were shrinking our consciousness, forgetting the Earth and Gaia, forgetting other species, making it all anthropocentric. But as of that wasn't enough we kept on shrinking, forgetting the women, forgetting non-western cultures, forgetting all we know.
Today we assume that the only knowlegde is the knowledge that serves power rather than life.
(Vandana Shiva, Earth University)

The wise man
He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has.

We are part of an interconnected whole-system world
Every one of us lives as part of an interconnected, whole-system world, yet many of us continue to act as if we were separate entities and everybody in the material quest for an instant accumulation of wealth and power.
Spirituality is the domain of consciousness
Spirituality is the domain of consciousness, embracing the observer, the observed, and the process of observation.

Life's challenges help you discover who you are
Life's challenges are not supposed to paralyze you, they are supposed to help you discover who you are.

AUM - OM - Amen
Akara, ukara and makara are Sanskrit words.
Akara means creation; ukara means preservation (maintenance); makara means dissolution
The first letters of the three words form the syllable AUM, which is the root of OM, indicating the circle of life.

Difference between Knowledge and Wisdom
Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit!
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad!
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad!
Wisdom and Courage
Wisdom is letting go when you want to hold on.
Courage is holding on when you want to let go.
Courage is holding on when you want to let go.

Philosophy of Organism / Systems Approach
The philosophy of organism is also called holistic or organismic philosophy, or 'Sytems approach'.
According to philosopher Alfred North Whitehead in 1925, organisms are 'structures of activity' at all levels of complexity. Even subatomic particles, atoms, molecules and crystals are organisms and hence in some sense alive.
From the organismic point of view, life is not something that has emerged from dead matter. All nature is alive. The organising principles of living organisms are different in degree but not different in kind from the organizing principles of molecules or of societies or of galaxies.
Whitehead put it as: "Biology is the study of the larger organisms, wheras phsics is the study of the smaller organisms." And in the light of new cosmology, physics is also the study of the all-embracing cosmic organism, and of the galactic, stellar and planetary organisms that have come into being within it.
Think, for example of a termite colony:
A termite colony is an organism,
which is made of individual insects,
which are made up of organs,
which are made up of tissues,
which are made up of cells,
which are made up of subcellar systems,
which are made up of molecules,
which are made up of atoms,
which are made up of electrons and nuclei,
which are made up of nuclear particles.
At each level are organized wholes, which are made up of parts that are themselves organized wholes. And at each level, the whole is more than the sum of its patrs; it has an irreducible integrity.
In an evolutionary universe, the organising principles of all systems at all levels of complexity must have evolved. The organizing principles of gold atoms, for example, or of bacterial cells, or of flocks of geese, have all come into being in time. None of them was there in the first place, at the time of the Big Bang.
But were all these organizing principles already present as transcendent Platonic archetypes (ideas) waiting for their moment to first manifest in the physical universe? Or are these organizing principles more like habits that have evolved in time?!

Morphogenesis and Formative Causation
The coming into being is called Morphogenesis, from Greek words morphe, form, and genesis, coming into being.
An understanding of morphogenesis is essential for a deeper comprehension of the nature of life, but currently only very little is understood about it.
Any satisfactory theory of morphogenesis has to take into account the fact that all biological forms have evolved. Morphogenesis is rooted in ancestral history.
The conventional explanation of the evolutionary basis of morphogenesis is in terms of the inheritance of chemical genes.
The hypothesis of Formative Causation takes a broader view of heridity, and sees the inheritance of organic form - including the forms of molecules themselves - in terms of the inheritance of organizing fields that contain a kind of inbuilt memory. Living organisms inherit not only genes but also habits of development and behaviour from past members of their own species, and also from the long series of ancestral species from which their species has arisen.
(Rupert Sheldrake - The presence of the past)

States of human intelligence
Wisdom traditions say about the different States of Human Intelligence...
(see also video of Deepak Chopra at Google)
- The highest state of human intelligence is "Being"
- The second highest state of human intelligence is the "Feeling" called Love and Compassion
- The third highest state of human intelligence is the "Thinking" that can create new meanings, new context, new relationships and new themes
- The least intelligent state of human intelligence is "Doing"
